12.21.09-12.31.09

I’m time traveling a little bit in the date span here. It’s only the 28th but I can pretty much guarantee I won’t be updating again before 2010 so let’s just wrap 2009 up here and now.

I was pregnant for a little more than half of this year, and now I’ve been a mom for 5 months.

Baby Buddha is perfect and beautiful and the hardest thing in the world I’ve ever encountered.

I would have agreed to be pregnant for pretty much any length of time longer if Baby Buddha would be born guaranteed to be sleeping through the night. Or even in 2-3 hour chunks. Like, up to another year of pregnancy. Maybe longer. Maybe I would’ve agreed to give birth to a tween, I dunno, as long as she slept. People, cherish your sleep, that’s all I’m saying.

I am now acutely aware of my own limitations. My ego and sense of self is pretty much dust in the wind. I’m like Richard Gere in an Officer and a Gentleman, where Lou Gossett, Jr is breaking me down to build me back up. Only I’m not being built back up yet. I’m pretty much stuck in that scene where Gere is crying in the fetal position, moaning about having no place else to go.

But enough about my impending trip to the nervous hospital…look it’s Christmas Baby Buddha!

  2. As usual, I find myself mesmerized, with a smile on my face, reading Nursing Buddha and looking at baby pics. I sure do love our little family. :)
